A faithful few

IMG_2281Thanks to everyone for supporting us in prayer at this week’s end-of-term event with the zm-sponsored students at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi. With trusty interpretation by our Field Director Simon Chikwana, Myles had the privilege of speaking on Christ’s call that all disciples be His light in the world, warning of the way the world tries to snuff out that light, and encouraged the students to commune deeply and daily with the Holy Spirit throughout the holiday to ensure they have the strength to keep burning bright for their Lord.

This is an amazing group of young (and not so young) men and women. One first year student proudly told us he was 60 and explained the academic challenges he had overcome to get to college after so many years. Another, with a self-deprecating laugh, told Myles how much he had learned in just the first term – how he had discovered he had been completely misunderstanding the bible through a hyper-literal interpretation and misleading those he taught. He was desperate to get home and correct matters.

zm has stepped out in faith to support an unprecedented 58 students this year. Contact us if you or your church is interested in sponsoring one of these amazing students who sacrifice so much to study.

It is ever more firmly our belief that today there is no more spiritually strategic a task for the Kingdom of God than discipling makers of disciples. For the multitudes of all nations continue to cry out for salvation, but only calling out to the Lord Jesus Christ is anything but an emotional sticking plaster. However, as Paul says, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Oh may Christ in this season and in His wisdom and power raise up a multitude of faithful gospel communicators in Malawi and worldwide.
