Every now and then we come across articles we think are worth reposting here because they give real insight into the true character of Malawi life.
This lovely article by Beth McLeod from the BBC’s “From our own correspondent” does just that; wonderfully bringing together so many aspects of life in Malawi: the strong connection between Malawi and Scotland, the enduring utility of the infrastructure from the days of the British Protectorate, the centrality of the Lake to the country’s identity, the colour and warmth of the people, and the critical dependence of the people on maize.
